Chemical Analysis of Bike Parts and Materials
Our experts at the accredited DEKRA Laboratory for Environmental and Product Analysis support you as part of your quality assurance, with product development as well as with initial sample inspections and incoming goods inspections including the required hazardous substances analyses. Especially for materials with prolonged skin contact, proper quality and durability are very important.
We offer extensive chemical tests for rubber and plastic materials such as handles and saddles. PAH requirements acc. to the REACH directive for materials with immediate prolonged skin contact need particular attention in this area. The same applies to other relevant hazardous substances such as plasticizers or heavy metals.
Pedelecs (bicycles with pedal assistance up to 25 km/h) are subject to the RoHS Directive 2011/65/EC since they do not require a type approval and therefore have to comply with the requirements included in the directive.
As a neutral, independent laboratory service provider we help you select the relevant requirements and provide consultation. In addition to the bicycle parts we also test the entire cycling equipment such as clothing, drinking bottles, helmets and accessories in our laboratories. Please do not hesitate to contact us.
