VDA 6.2
Certification to VDA 6.2 demonstrates quality in dealing with customers
The German Association of the Automotive Industry (Verband der Automobilindustrie, VDA) developed the standard VDA 6.2 especially for automotive service providers.
Services are essentially intangible, but also contain a tangible component, which must be recognised. The commercial success of a company is primarily determined by the quality of service during a vehicle’s life cycle. This is judged by the customer alone – a poor service rendered may therefore also be the last service rendered.
The VDA 6.2:2004 standard relates not only to the quality of the services rendered to the customer, but also to all service processes within the scope of their rendering. The standard is applied by the car trade and by transport and logistics companies. However, internal service providers (development, logistics, purchasing) may also use this standard for continuous improvement.
